Осторожно с devfs и laptop'ами. Я пользовался им пару лет и у меня
время от времени при смене pcmcia карты машина зависала. Поскольку я
сидел всегда в x-ах, сообщений о panic я не видел :-) и грешил на
железку, тем более что она представляла собой довольно раздолбанный
noname. Но однажды я всё-таки не выдержал и начал пытаться воспроизвести
ситуацию с консоли. Машина стабильно вылетала в panic на пятом-шестом
передёргивании карты, причём это наблюдалось даже при использовании
latest & greatest patches для 2.4.
