Если вам нужно работать, а не красивые менюшки, то сам LyX очень
даже хорош.

Через некоторое время - может быть месяц или два,
выйдет версия LyX 1.3.0 с интерфейсом qt (сроки - лично моё
предположение). Если всё будет благополучно, то я соберу
pre-версию как можно раньше.
