Все так. Но версии контроллеров бывают разные.
У меня вот при попытке установить Мастера на HPT374, та же ошибка.
Просто ядро Мастера (из коробки) не знает 374-го.
Мне посоветовали установиться на обычный IDE, обновить ядро,
а потом уже пытаться встать на RAID.
Правда я пока не пробовал...
