Alsa просто карт больше поддерживает и некоторые доп. фичи для
них. Но для нее нужно пакеты доп. устанавливать для конкретного
ядра (что не удобно и проблемы, как у вас могут возникать) и
всякую эмуляцию oss включать.
Для Live! особой разницы нет, что использовать. OSS-drv просто
проще в использовании и настройке.
Разве что под Alsa-drv можно миди семплы фирменные грузить, но вы
часто миди слушаете?
