Hi!
Сие сообщение адресовано тем сурьезным личностям, которые "один в поле -
воин", вытаскивают сырцы и пересобирают подавляющее большинство сизифовых
пакетов под свои Атлоны / i686. В чем ведь вопрос - как грамотно переехать
на новую libpng? Далее я предлагаю свой рецепт.
ВНИМАНИЕ! Использовать данный рецепт настоятельно рекомендуется только
вместе с /dev/трижды/подумавши, в противном случае могут быть (и будут!)
проблемы.
cornet посоветовал поставить от новой libpng devel-пакеты - мол только они
нужны для пересборки. Но "мы пойдем своим путем" и сделаем именно то, чего
"боялись в свое время большевики" - но временно. Мы будем держать в системе
две версии библиотеки libpng. Одна (старая) - останется лишь для работы уже
существующих приложений, а другая (новая) будет использоваться при всех
следующих сборках. Таким образом планируется осуществить "плавный" переезд
на новую версию libpng.
Сначала пересобираем новую версию libpng. Готово. Далее надо сделать
временный пакет, который будет предоставлять libpng.so.2 (как оказалось,
именно на это имя и проставлены подавляющее большинство зависимостей
пакетов). Я обозвал его как libpng_old. Скомпиленный бинарник можно взять
вот здесь:

И, соответственно, SRPM:
http://abr.pp.ru/downloads/SRPMS/libpng_old-1.0.12-abr1.src.rpm
Далее ставим libpng-*1.2.0-alt1.i686.rpm libpng_old-1.0.12-abr1.i686.rpm
одновременно. Теперь только осталось аккуратно все пересобрать, при этом
будет использоваться libpng.so.3
