Просто хочу описать глюк, что произошел только что. Решил вместо foomatic
поставить cups-drivers из-за не очень правильной прорисовки драйвером
gimp-print для HP 930С. Да не тут-то было! Запустил rpm -e foomatic, после
чего kswapd съел все процессорное время, хотя места в памяти - завались (ядро
2.4.9-alt3 самосборное) и все процессы выбросил на диск. И так 3 раза подряд,
причем такое было ТОЛЬКО с rpm. Удалял с --justdb --nodeps --notriggers. И
все равно потом пришлось чистить каталоги. Далее еще интереснее: набираю
$rpm -q foomatic
пакет не установлен.
#rpm -Uhv cups-drivers-...
Пакет cups-drivers конфликтует с foomatic.
Попытка вполнить rpm --rebuilddb - опять все в стопоре. Только после
перезагрузки компьютера все пошло. Последняя команда дала, что дубликат имен,
после чего cups-drivers встали без проблем.
Вот такой вот сыр-бор. Но из-за чего?
