В случае ядра 2.4.5 и далее и Xfree 4.1 не нужно ничего.
В том числе - не нужна Mesa.
Речь идёт есс-но о поставках от Alt.
Грабли:
1) Не знаю, включен ли в эту сборку tex_decal patch,
решающий часть проблем с текстурами.
2) Режим AGP возможно придётся проставит лапами.
Вот в общем-то все проблемы... Если не считать
отсутствия текстурироввания при включенном
MipMap-сглаживании...
