Опция "-u" для klogd - это нововведение из Owl, пока не документировано,
но вполне самоочевидно: klogd после инициализации переключается в
пользователя, указанного в опции "-u".

Это "неуловимый" баг: проявляется _только один раз_ крайне нерегулярно
сразу после обновления пакета sysklogd. После перезагрузки системы не
воспроизводится, увы.
Попробуйте (до перезагрузки системы) поэкспериментировать с опцией "-c"
демона klogd. Расскажите о результатах.
