Засыпание настраивайте через upower. Хотя не уверен, как это выглядит в
XFCE.

За первый ничего не скажу. Второй сейчас используется успешно, через
него работает Гном.

Теперь удев выталкивает хал. Потому что хал --- труп. Все, кто
пользуются халом, устарели. Следовательно, powersave уже нерабочий.
