Удалите эту директорию (2.4 в смысле, а не всю ветку) и установите заново
пакет или apt-get -f install (точно не помню как делал)

Если так- то лечение как в предыдущем случае.
У меня ещё была проблема с emacs'ом. Он говорил что не может создать
симлинк по пути /etc/emacs/site-start.d. Так и пришлось руками ему
создать.
