Предложи вариант лучше для задачи "перекинуть пару файлов между
unix-хостами А и B". ssh там есть искаропки, любое другое надо ставить
и настраивать - стоит ли делать это ради пары файлов?

В зависимости от задачи. Если файлопомойку хотим видит из интернетов?
Если машин много и ими управляют разные люди? (районная локальная сеть
провайдера)
