Я действительно не очень ясно понимаю что означает realtime os. В моем
понимании это значит что если какой-то процесс должен работать в реальном
времени - у него есть для этого соответствующие приоритеты и возможность
(хотя конечно где-то здесь близко наверно уже будут ограничения железа).
В случае десктопа - это применимо наверно в основном к мультимедиа. Проблем с
последней я вроде не испытывал (думаю у тех кто профессионально работает со
звуком/видео - требования выше:).
Во всяком случае, наличие возможностей - лучше отсутствия таковых (была-бы
еще парочка компов - непременно попробовал-бы кластер какой-нибудь собрать:)
