Нет, это важно делать именно скриптом update_xml, чтобы отловить
ошибки, которые часто допускают переводчики (то тег не закроют, то
после макроса забудут точку с запятой поставить). Если же выложить
хотя бы один самосборный докбук, который не компилируется, то тем
самым не соберётся весь пакет ru.
