Решил поставить ALT Linux Desktop 4.1..но при установке возникла проблема -
после "Starting Xorg.." черный экран и повисает.
Обнаружил, что проблема в видеодрайвере, попробовал передать ядру
xdriver=trident (в нете нашел, что XGI Volari XP5 - Trident-based design),
появились изменения, теперь экран постепенно светлеет, с кучей разноцветных
точек в разных местах, а потом опять темнеет..и все..
Нашел статью http://lkml.org/lkml/2004/12/10/127
Но так и не понял, что это за драйвер, где его взять и как использовать.
