На моём компьютере стоит две старенькие видео карты.
Одна - Hercules Dynamite 3D GL, 4 мб встроенной памяти.
Вторая - от intel, on board.
Попытался установить ALT Linux на компьютер. Оказалось что картой от
Hercules, Линукс может только подмигивать. А со встроенной работает
нормально (со встроенной установился и сидит на жестком диске).
Беда в том, что встроенная карта поддерживает разрешение 1024х768 при 24
битах, а меня устраивает разрешение 1152х870 при 32 битах (которое
поддерживает карточка "Геркулес").
До этого пытались на этот же комп установить ASP Linux 11.2 и Fedora 11
- та же проблема. В заметке 1999 года на сайте linuxcenter.ru нашёл инфу
о том, что видео карта от Hercules (указанная выше) поддерживается
только в коммерческих (собственнических) иксах.
Если кто знает как заставить линукс работать с картой Hercules (драйвер
Vesa её не берёт), то прошу написать мне. Спасибо заранее.
