Система: ALM2.4, linux v2.4.26
Раньше подсоединял свою камеру Samsung Digimax A400 по USB, включал её
питание, она говорила "Соединяюсь..." и таки соединялось. Появлялся
каталог /mnt/camera и соответствующая запись в /etc/fstab. Можно было
монтировать обычным пользователем.
Теперь дома у меня что-то сломалось (казалось бы беспричинно) и не
появляется запись в fstab и каталог /mnt/camera. На работе всё ОК.
Системы идентичные.
На рабочей машинке dmesg говорит:

На сломавшейся: то же сообщение, что покороче :)
Когда глюк только начался, камера вообще висла на фразе "Соединяюсь...".
Потом стало лучше (хотя я ничего не делал, просто разъединил-соединил
пару раз). Перезагрузка системы, разумеется, не помогла.
В какую сторону смотреть? Догадываюсь, что hotplug, но куда копать,
чтобы скорее исправить - не знаю...
Да, ещё одно: если под рутом скомандовать mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/disk
(опции опустил), то камера монтируется на обоих системах и прекрасно
работает.
