1) поиграться надо с настройками биоса - в зависимости от того на какой
режим LPT настроен он может функционировать по разному.
2) сам порт рабочий ?
3) присутствует в dmesg ? модуль parport случаем не подгружен ?
4) может хитрые права на девайс ?
