Да работают себе. И давно уж по этой части изменений не было. :)

Там эти четыре ядра слеплены довольно бестолково -- как обычно,
из-за маркетинговых побуждений в первую очередь. В частности,
с взаимодействием по кэшу всё совсем печально.

...но это уж от ОС почти не зависит...
На десктопе сейчас в среднем куда разумней двухъядерник и много
памяти, чем это непотребство, IMHO.
