Вроде бы для именно этого варианта (1524:0550, 1524:0551) поддержка
есть и в нашем 2.6.18, начиная с kernel-image-std-smp-2.6.18-alt10;
патч также входит в kernel-image-ovz-smp-2.6.18-alt16. Правда, лично
у меня такого железа нет.
С другими форматами (кроме SD/MMC) ситуация несколько хуже -
ограниченная поддержка MemoryStick появилась только в пререлизах
2.6.25 (похоже, не для всех типов карт), и только для некоторых
контроллеров от TI.
