Это и была ошибка -- строить надо было не как обычно, а по
документации. Что sinister@ успешно и сделал, воспользовавшись
для удобства приготовленным вариантом:

Одним ключевым моментом было "запустить ccpd" [для нормальной
жизни -- "подсунув вместо их кривого инитскрипта что-то
работающее с chkconfig"], другим -- использовать не /dev/usblp0,
а наличный /dev/usb/lp0 (зависит от [не]использования udev).
Ну и настраивать на ccp:/var/ccpd/fifo0, а не usb:/...
(попробую перепатчить на /var/spool/ccpd)

Тогда хватило только на common (там небольшие конюшни), сейчас
взялся за capt (поскольку завелось и с другой стороны -- их
оказалось больше, чем предполагалось).
Если вдруг каким-то чудом у кого-то есть _технический_ контакт
разработчиков из Canon -- дайте. В canon.ru предложение прислать
получившиеся для 1.20 патчи ушло как в /dev/null, по canon
technical contact bugtraq нагуглился только один не особенно
релевантный человек (которого всё равно придётся дёрнуть).
