Попробуйте поставить в "Эксперте" -- если будет выбор между 3.x и
4.x, может, старые иксы сработают.
Прямщас -- попробуйте поставить Driver "vesa" в /etc/X11/XF86Config-4,
загрузившись с параметром "3" (в текстовый режим).
Если там не s3, может иметь смысл попробовать s3.
Да, и вместо питания _может_ помочь нажать Alt-SysRq и, удерживая
их, последовательно нажать "s" "u" "b" (sync, umount, boot).
