Если процессор +/- свободен, машинка тестовая и не развесистая --
зачем именно железный? Соберите софтовый, оно даже работает.

By default обычно Intel EtherExpress.

Да вроде без явных перекосов, кроме RAID. Для зеркала на двух
дисках, которые всё равно в душе IDE, я бы и брал два IDE без
особого смущения.
