Это коммутатор.

Если есть поддержка подключения в стек, то производительность при обычной
нагрузке не страдает. При сильно нагрузке всё упирается в скорость внутренней
шины, но всё равно будет быстрее чем городить звезду.

Думаю лучше купить DES 1026G. 24порта 10/100Mbit и 2 1Gbit. Стоит не больше
200 зелёных. Внутренняя шина 8.8Gbit/sec.
