Насчет названий чипа лучше почитать драйвер от ati и разобраться, что
9600Pro лишь немного лучше 9000 и тем более 8500 :))) Лучше взять
полноценный R9500 или сразу 9700Pro.

если взять ATI, то всегда будет выбор что использовать - либо драйвера
fglrx либо dri/gatos. С nvidia - только молиться на производителя.

есть 9800 :) Вот скоро volodya из gatos к нему rage theater похакает, и
будет вообще ляпота.
