Нет, нужно именно отрисовывать связывающие линии, как показано на
рисунке по первой ссылке. Линии, которые идут от каждой вложенной
ячейки к родительской. При глубокой вложенности и смешении
"бездетных" ячеек с родительскими линии довольно удобны.
