Не надо его упразднять: terminfo ставится, например, в сборочном
окружении, которое обычно все же разворачивается в tmpfs. А пакет,
который позволяет сэкономить полмегабайта памяти за счет отказа от
экзотики - это хорошо.
Единственное, за чем нужно следить - что считать экзотикой. И при
необходимости переносить описания между пакетами.
