Вроде бы уже обсуждалось, что "грамотно распилить texlive"
это то же самое, что поддерживать свой дистрибутив TeX
(нет желающих).
Есть альтернатива -- я могу собрать 3 пакета texlive-bin, texlive-texmf,
texlive-doc, под 1Gb каждый, но нужно ли?
