Конечно предполагается, но в моих ближайших планах другие пакеты.
В принципе, bash4 можно пока на пробу собрать параллельно с bash3.
Например, в Сизифе есть make3.82 рядом со старым добрым make-3.81.

Это, наверное, не очень просто.
