Надо ассемблер отрубить. Особенно неграмотный ассемблер. Ассемблер
давал ощутимый выигрыш на декодировании mp3 лет десять назад, во времена
когда был популярен P166MMX. Теперь процессоры стали настолько мощнее,
что в деле декодирования mp3 не стоит экономить их загрузку, она всё
равно мизерная.
Кстати, при большом load затыки в проигрывании mp3 вызывает скорее
дисковая подсистема ядра, нежели чем что-то ещё. :( Приходится
активизировать 'last resort' способ в виде 'sudo renice тры-ты-ты'. :(
И вообще, насколько я понимаю, стандартным способом декодирования mp3
сейчас является libmad. В этом смысле оригинальные эти подвыподверты
mpg123 никакого энтузиазма не вызывают.
