Ну... там другая проблема, если копнуть. ppp0 у нас не менее
"IP-интерфейс", чем eth0, но для него настраивалки [пока] нет
(и не факт, что срочно надо -- на десктопе обычно звонилка
выходит удобнее, если не PPP-over-чтонить или мобилка).
Бишь не столько в именовании, сколько вообще в классификации
и поддержке классов по факту.
