Например тем, что код, скомпилёный под x86_64 на i586 просто не
запустится. Или тем, что компилятор в x86_64 на i586 может жить
только в виде кросса со всеми вытекающими. Или тем, что для
сборки некоторых пакетов нужны другие пакеты, собранные под
x86_64, которые ну ни как не смогут быть установлены на i586...
Нет, макросы то поместить можно, только вряд ли Вам удастся
что либо собрать...
P.S. С удивлением узнал, что слово "врядли" оказывается пишется
раздельно. По крайней мере словарь Лебедева считает именно так.
