Думал и так, надо попробовать вспомнить, что было pro/contra. Contra -- малая информативность для человека (=> необходимость заглядывать в склерозницу где-что-как ещё и с "как звать-то"). По отношению к бэкпортам спека это то же, что спек по отношению к исходникам -- возможность накапливать, а не приобретать и выбрасывать опыт. Другой момент -- что updates по apache состояли из новых версий, а не отнесённых назад изменений по безопасности. Что может быть плохо (а может и не быть, но это смежный вопрос). PS: собственно C, F которых ты R -- %release_tag содержит leading dot плюс сокращение ветки/версии дистрибутива или пуст в случае принадлежности к Sisyphus-current, угу?
