После сегодняшнего dist-upgrade взорвался sendmail (давно пора от
него избавиться).  Он был жестоко убит и заменён на postfix:

# apt-get install postfix

apt-get reinstall postfix postfix-control проблему (а она была)
решил, но "неприятный осадок остался" (C).  В BTS?  На какой
пакет?

Вероятность чисто гипотетическая, но до тех пор, пока update-alternatives
написан на perl-base'е, некое беспокойство за /etc/alternatives
сохраняется.
