"Крутые процессоры" -- это тоже абстракция, потому что крутые машины
обычно не простаивают, на них "толкается" большое число процессов.
В этом смылсе L1/L2 кэш и RAM никогда не бывают лишними, потому что их
всегда можно использовать более эффективно (например, несколько лишних
страниц под буферный кэш вместо RSS). Это же тоже выигрыш, хотя он и не
является "оптимизацией" в специфическом смысле.
