Уважаемые коллеги,
В сизифе появилась минималистичная сборка matchbox,
matchbox-window-manager-light, ориентированная на
инсталляторы и киоски.
Подобная сборка используется в инсталлере Debian
и в инсталляторе Ma{ndriv,gei}a DrakX.
Какая от нее польза?
запускать инсталлятор или приложение в киоске
без оконного менеджера достаточно неудобно:
не доступны готовые _window_maximize и т.д.
В то же время обычный оконный менеджер
отвлекает на себя внимание своими меню и панелями
и добавляет ненужное обрамление к окну.
В отличие от них matchbox-window-manager-light
сразу разворачивает приложение на весь экран
без обрамления. При этом у приложения могут быть
модальные окна. Модальные окна отрисовываются поверх
и центрируются (например, диалог - вы уверены (Y/N)?)
Как следствие, использование matchbox-window-manager-light
существенно облегчает написание инсталляторов и киосков.
