Здравствуйте!
Все же удалось найти и скачать Alt Linux Junior 1.1 для старого ноута. До
этого столь старое ПО от Альт не ставил (начинал с Мастера 2.0) - в связи
с этим особенно удивил и порадовал (!) инсталлятор. Ведь то, что я видел
уже в более поздних версиях Альт - было немного не так и более обрезанный
вариант.. Там и возможность установки пакетов с учетом размеров диска (в
частности, в процентом соотношении), да и вообще ряд мелких деталей,
исчезнувших в последующих версиях, стабильность работы..
Это лирика..
А вот вопрос - довольно глобальный..
Неужели в третьих иксах (XFree86 3.3.6) нет НИКАКОЙ возможности получить
нормальное отображение (антиалиасинг, сглаживание) шрифтов, в частности, в
тогдашних Gnumeric, Abiword, тамошнем OpenOffice 638 и т.д.?
Карта Chips&Technologies не поддерживает rendering, судя по выводу команды
xdpyinfo (нет его в списке extensions).. Но вот исключение - в gv
сглаживание есть (есть оно и в оффтопике, но это уже отдельная тема)..
Почему третьи иксы? Потому что увы 4-ые иксы не для этой карты.. драйвер
chips завешивает иксы и компьютер напрочь или вовсе не дает иксам
запуститься - только XFree86-SVGA..
