Почему же, отнюдь. Специально переключился в runlevel 3 и сказал startx -
абсолютно идентично. Всё программы запустились как обычно. К тому же, у
меня в ALM2.4 ~/.xinitrc и не влияет ни на что. Припомнил давнишние
раскопки (и проверил ещё раз на всякий случай) - запускаются только файлы
из ~/.xsession.d. Впрочем, это наверно у вас ALC3, что ~/.xinitrc
запускается.
