Стало быть, 3D не нужно? ATi тогда или Matrox. Для первых
драйвера есть на http://gatos.sf.net. Там для радеонов ДО 7500
(включительно или нет, не отвечу, у меня простой радеон 64DDR) и
3D есть. Вторые (если не ошибаюсь) по жизни открытые. А MPEG
перестает тормозить начиная аж с AMD K6-300 при использовании
MPlayer. Собранного, естественно, на той же машине (том же
наборе процессор + материнка + видеокарта), на которой
предполагается смотреть фильмы. Главное -- чтоб XVideo Extension
работало.
