Я уже писал, что никак не мог в течение месяца настроить разрешение 1440x900,
перепробовав все, что знал сам, что советовали и что смог найти в сети.
При этом на этом же комплекте оборудования в Windows и Desktop 4.1 все нормально
работало. Вычитав из одного источника, что всему виной монитор Acer AL1916W, я
попробовал на работе монитор Samsung SyncMaster 943 (в таблице его нет, но, взяв
одну из более старших моделей, без труда установил требуемые 1440х900. Взял на
вечер с работы монитор, приволок домой и попробовал совершить те же телодвижения.
И вот вам хрен! Получал либо 1280х1024, либо темный экран с требованием выставить
1440х900_60. Попробовал задать насильно через конфиг, но получил явно что-то более
крупное, да еще с нарушением строчной синхронизации. Одним словом, сделал вывод:
в том, что развертка 1440х900 для меня недостижима в 5.0 виновата видеокарта FG6600GT,
вернее какой-то косяк в системе, который исключает режим 1440х900 из списка допустимых
для этой видеокарты, причем для разных драйверов. Как это может быть я слабо себе
представляю, но пятерку прийдется пропустить, а делать то, что не получается в 4.1
(чтение в формате epub и запись с веб-камеры) в ОС от майкрософт.
