А если попробовать так. Поставить Лиса из начала года. Поставить
что-то из гугловских прог. Тот же чат. Потом попробовать
последовательно обновить до последней версии? У меня стоит гугловский
чат. Но, проблема вылезла только на последнем обновлении. До того,
обновлялось нормально.
Есть реальная папка
/usr/lib64/firefox/plugins и в ней симлинки на гугловские библиотеки в /opt/...
Собственно, из

file /usr/lib64/firefox/plugins: cpio: rename failed - Is a directory
похоже, что проблемой есть именно наличие реальной папки при установке
очередного обновления. Может достаточно просто перед установкой
последнего обновления создать эту папку руками?
