Спасибо всем ответившим! Рассказываю результат.
В конце концов для EL5 нашел версию 2.0.4 - работает! Правда пришлось
доставить .air для управления upgrades - пыталась обновиться до
неработающей. Нашел на самом adobe.com , но черт побери, это квест!
Для бокса в школу пошел Mandriva LXDE 2010.1, хотя его и нет в списке,
тем не менее пашет.

В принципе это более простое развертывание того же Adobe Air, думаю
аналогично .bin
Но затем будут такие же требования к системе.
Я не в восторге от flash, но раз приложение на нем, то уж лучше Air, чем плагин.
И лучше всё же добиться работы в ALT Linux для школы.
Основную сложность, после совместимости по libc, как я понимаю, это
работа с librpm -
AIR грамотно прописывает приложения в базу, как будто ставишь из rpm.
Может сдесь есть расхождение.
