Раньше во всяком случае, нужна была строка в lilo.conf такого вида:
append=" resume=/dev/hda7"
И это должен был быть раздел который не используется системой при роботе.

Как-то так suspend2disk.log или так pm-suspend.log. Гляньте в доку...
