Так, с этим разобрались, все работает, спасибо. Теперь еще вопрос - не
создаю новый тред, потому что явно связанные вещи.
После загрузки через init 5 в xfce обнаружил, что нажатие на
клавиатуре ALt-F2 (run command) действует так же, как Ctrl-Alt-F2,
т.е. я попадаю во вторую текстовую консоль. Также остальные Alt-F3,
Alt-F4 и т.д. К тому же при ALt-F2 окошко запуска команды открывается
несколько десятков раз (!!!), и приходится все это безобразие
закрывать.
Поменял на init 3, загрузился через startx. Все нормально, ничего
такого не обнаружено... Мистика какая-то. Абсолютно четко - я в
настройках между этими запусками ничего не менял, да и вообще
настройки клавиатуры не трогал...
И еще - где xfce состояние сессии запоминает и как это отключить?
