поставь второй винт с secondary на primary и увидишь как
геометрия поменялась ;)

так и должно быть. Ядро геометрию берет у самого винта, а не из
BIOS. Проблема в ядреном IDE, у него для Secondary почему-то
может быть не более 16 головок.

А не все ли равно, какой CHS показывается, если ядро и lilo
работают в LBA32? число головок, дорожек и т.п. имели реальный
физический смысл смысл только во времена MFM/RLL/ESDI винтов, а
сейчас, с появлением LBA32/LBA48 и логическая геометрия тоже
потеряла всякой смысл.
