Побарывал такое отказазом от настройки мультимедиа клавиш через KDE.
Sven - multimedia keyboard daemon
Sven is a good program for multimedia buttons. You can adjust it for
any keyboard.
It is possible to adjust for performance of different programs for
each button.
Вот через него и попробуйте. Работает так, как вы настроите + не
зависимо от DE.
