Перед перенаправлением на 4.1/branch закомментируйте все строки
имеющие отношение к 4.0/branch, везде, где ссылается на этот старый
branch включая ссылку на cdrom и

Потому как после перенаправления на 4.1/branch это будет точно уже не
4.0 система.
Не забудьте при этом:

apt-get update # обновление списка пакетов
apt-get dist-upgrade # обновление установленых пакетов из 4.1/branch

для глобального обновления системы

Нельзя два разных бранча сваливать в кучу!
...просто подредактируйте свои x.x.list, закомментировав строки и
введите в sources.list то, что вам посоветовали. Все :)
