Полставил в 32х-битный chroot, всё задышало. Вернее почти всё.
для того чтобы заработало
# linux32 chroot /lin32 vmware &
пришлось установить пакет gnome-sisyphus-minimal
Но при запуске гостевой системы происходит ошибка и в логах пишет что
некорректный модуль vmmon

Попробовал запустить этот же vmware но в других иксах и никакой ругани,
всё заработало.
Вопрос: Что не хватает в иксах на локальной машине?
