А ничего особенного и не нужно.
Если дело во флэшке,то fdisk/fsck/mkfs обычно замечательно
помогают :)
Можно еще для верности нулями сырое устройство заполнить.
Примерно так:
dd bs=1M if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda count=1200
ДолжнО завестись...
