Как выяснил, видеокарта тут ни при чём. Проблему _временно_ решил (для
ALM2.4). Сидел до 2-х ночи и выколупывал пакеты, которые из updates.
Т.е. сделал downgrade до чистого ALM2.4. Заработало. Последовательный
upgrade выявил, что если не обновлять XFree86 и то, что он по
зависимостям тянет, но будет работать. WinRar и Heroes3 заработали как и
прежде, а вот wGens (эмулятор Sega) - только до начала реальной эмуляции.
Пробовал и wine из ALM2.4, и из backports со старым форматом конфигов, и
новый из backports, который настройки хранит уже в реестре. Разницы
никакой не заметил.
Как сделать для ALC3.0 - ума не приложу...
