Посля установки 2.4 не запускается CUPS. Но это поправимо вручную.
(Кстати - drakconf слетает с воплями "GLib-GObject-WARNING **:
g_object_set_valist: construct property "type" for object `GtkDialog'
can't be set after construction" и окошечком, что "Permission denied"
-это от root-а!)
Но что хуже - даже не настраивается.
Куда делись былые настройки (при dist-upgrade) - неясно.
При обращении к http://localhost:631/ (демон cups - запущен) выводится:

(Само по себе соединение - устанавливается)
При попытке настроить из меню KDE "Принтеры" все поначалу идет
здорово, но в конце (равно как и при "Проверить") требует авторизации.
Ни рабочий логин, ни root (с соответствующими паролями, ест-нно) не
воспринимаются.
Ну тут ладно - я запустил от root-а, все вроде прошло, но печати нет
как нет. Хоть я и указал (вручную), что устройство - /dev/usb/lp0
(принтер - USB-ный). И система его там (на USB) видит. И прога говорит,
что пробная страница успешно послана (на печать, не подумайте чего).
А ведь раньше все как-то преодолевалась без особых проблем и посему
не отложилось в памяти - как. Постарел я, что-ли? Или дистрибутивы стали
делаться с расчетом на дополнительное закаливание пользователей
(трудностями)?
